The STATE of the CIO 2008

CIOs don’t just lead IT shops. The best are business strategists. The CIO position continues to grow in stature in the business world. In the 2008 “State of the CIO” study, CIO magazine incorporated the CIO job model and competencies framework created by the CIO Executive Council to get to the bottom of how CIOs spend their time and the resulting personal and business ramifications. More than 500 heads of IT chose from a list of CIO activities and actions that most accurately characterized how they spend the majority of their time on the job.
